Job Description

 

  • Serves guests in a pleasant and friendly manner and this creates a fun and enjoyable atmosphere.      
  • Answers questions about food and drinks including their ingredients, preparation and accompanying items.      
  • Greets new seated guests in a friendly manner.      
  • Takes beverage orders and serves beverage, offers appetizers
  • Takes food order and repeats order to guests for clarification.      
  • Merchandises menu items, such as appetizers, entrees, beverages and desserts.      
  • Rings up orders on P.O.S. quickly and in proper sequence by using Micros order language and appropriate abbreviations and charges.      
  • Follows alcohol awareness procedures to prevent intoxication of guests.
  • Follows alcohol awareness procedures for handling an intoxicated guest.      
  • Attends to guests’ needs when serving food and checks back to ensure guest satisfaction.      
  • Observes guests to respond to any additional needs.      
  • Maintains table appearance by pre-bussing, checking drink levels, removing clutter and providing extra napkins and cutlery if necessary.      
  • Totals bill and presents check upon removal of last plate or upon request.
  • Accepts payment and provides change or credit card voucher within 1-3 minutes of guests’ payment. Follows appropriate accounting procedures for closing checks and vouchers. Ensures that credit cards are not left in guest check folder.   
  • Gives a warm and pleasant farewell to guests and invites them to return.
  • Keeps station clean, sets up and takes down station appropriately.      
  • Attends shift meetings according to shift schedule.      
  • Adheres to company alcoholic beverage policies.      
  • Adheres to company sanitation procedures.    
  • Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where, necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.  
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position.      
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees.      
  • Provides a favorable image of the Company at all times to promote its aims and objectives, and to foster and enhance public recognition and acceptance of all of its areas of endeavor. 
  • At end of shift cash out with manager according to established procedures.   

 

Requirements

  

  • All servers must maintain check average Dinner $37.50/Lunch $29.50 and Retail sales based on net sales Dinner 3.0%/Lunch 5.0%.
  • Must be dressed neatly and well groomed in company approved uniform at all times.     
  • Must be able to operate P.O.S. system, makes change correctly and makes credit card transactions.     
  • Must be able to calmly respond to angry guests and notify a manager.
  • Must be able to carry trays with food.     
  • Hazards include, but are not limited to, cuts from broken glass and metal cans; burns, slipping and tripping.     
  • Stands during entire 6-8 hour shift.     
  • Must be able to pass bar validation.     
  • Must be able to read menus to sight-impaired guests.     
  • Reaches, bends, stoops and wipes.     
  • Must be able to respond clearly to guests’ requests.     
  • Must be able to hear well amongst loud background noise.     
  • Must be able to carry oval trays with food.
  • Frequent immersion of hands in hot water (every 5 minutes).     
  • Must be able to effectively card all guests who appear under the age of 30 for alcohol purchases and under the age of 25 for tobacco purchases. 
  • Tam Card, Health Card are required
